Our Approach to Covid-19 Safety
Maine Paddling Connection is taking a variety of steps to minimize the risk of exposure to Covid-19.
Sanitizing and Cleaning of equipment
Canoes, SUPs and paddling gear is cleaned and disinfected after every use.
Paddles and pfd’s are rotated in and out of use to maximize time between uses.
Hand sanitizer, a hand washing station and extra ppe is present at our storage/maintenance facility for staff.
Physical Distancing and Face Coverings
Customers are asked to wear face coverings when rental equipment is being delivered and prepared and also when getting ready for an outing or class.
While paddling, face coverings are not required.
Staff and customers are asked to socially distance whenever possible.
Staff will avoid passing equipment directly to customers.
Reservations and Payment
Rentals and classes must be reserved in advanced.
If state travel restrictions prevent participants from renting equipment or taking classes, a full refund will be issued.
All paddlers need to complete a brief Covid-19 questionnaire and must sign off that they are in compliance with the state’s mandatory quarantine policy for certain out-of-state visitors.
Non-contact payments will not be mandatory, but will be available to reduce interaction.
Staffing
Staff will stay home if they show symptoms of Covid-19 or were in sustained contact with others experiencing symptoms.
Staff will wear face coverings whenever they work in areas where others are present.
Extra face coverings and gloves are available to staff.
Classes and Outings
Instructors will address Covid-19 safety before classes.
Instructors will have extra face coverings and hand sanitizer with them during classes.
Staff will have extra face coverings and hand sanitizer on Outings.
