Laser Sailing Long Pond
Trish grew up racing Lasers in Canada and her dad still had three of their sailboats in storage up on Grand Manan. For a couple years we’d been dropping hints about how great it would be to have them down here in Belgrade Lakes. Well it finally happened. We’ve had the boats the better part of a year and finally got one of them rigged to sail.
We have a larger sailboat that I’ve been learning on, but Trish was ripping ready to get back on a fast one-man laser. She took it on a test sail and got it moving, but not near its full potential. This winter I’ll clean it up a bit more and prep the second one with new rigging as well. Next summer we’re planning to rig a floating dock to leave them both on so we can store them on the lake and not have to trailer or carry them each time we sail.
Oh, I can’t wait to race each other around Long Pond.
